Join the wonderful Doorstep Herbs duo, Kim and Vanessa, for a special medieval herb morning exploring some of the herbs growing around us and their significance through history.
The morning will include a look inside Starcroft Farm Cabins’ medieval-themed cabin, Matilda – named after William the Conqueror’s wife – and aims to reconnect us with useful herbs that would have been so familiar to our ancestors, and likely used by the monks at nearby Battle Abbey.
Here’s what our morning will look like:
10:30am-11:15am – herb walk in the area around Starcroft Farm
11:15am-11:30am – herbal tea and cake break
11:30am-12:30pm – a workshop to introduce you to herbal medicine, looking at the history of some of the medieval herbs we’ve encountered on our walk or growing nearby and how they can help with your self-care.
How to book:
Please book your tickets in advance here https://shorturl.at/ewPU5
You’re welcome to attend either the walk or the workshop separately or you can attend both if you wish!
The cost for the walk is £10 and for the workshop it’s £25. If you’re attending both events, the cost is £30.
Parking is available for this event at Starcroft Farm Cabins. (what three words /// explored.icebergs.tailed)
About Doorstep Herbs:
We are Vanessa (Beach Hut Herbalist) and Kim (The Wild and Weedy Emporium) and together we are Doorstep Herbs. We offer local walks and workshops to introduce everyone to the herbs that are quite literally growing in and around our doorsteps and simple ways to use them for self-care.
We want everyone to love herbs as much as we do and to feel confident recognising and using herbs at home whether that’s making a simple balm, alleviating a rotten cold or for simple first aid.
